Oracle Review - Variety Pack

This week I'm going to mention a bunch of cards that don't warrant a full review on their own.  First a couple from Arabian Nights.

The next time a source of your choice would deal damage to you this turn, instead that source deals that much damage to you and Eye for an Eye deals that much damage to that source's controller.

This is one of those things that I like just because it replaces an effect with the exact same effect. 3 Stars.
As Jihad enters the battlefield, choose a color and an opponent.

White creatures get +2/+1 as long as the chosen player controls a nontoken permanent of the chosen color.

When the chosen player controls no nontoken permanents of the chosen color, sacrifice Jihad.

I always take note when they replace "card" with "nontoken permanent" because it's a great maintenance of the original meaning of the card, even though it is clearly silly.  3 Stars.

And now, a couple cards from antiquities - a very boring set from an Oracle perspective.

Enchant creature

Enchanted creature can't be blocked by artifact creatures.

Prevent all damage that would be dealt to enchanted creature by artifact sources.

Enchanted creature can't be the target of abilities from artifact sources.

Why not Protection from Artifacts?  Does not stop auras or equipment from being attached.  3 Stars.

Each noncreature artifact loses all abilities and becomes an artifact creature with power and toughness each equal to its converted mana cost. If Titania's Song leaves the battlefield, this effect continues until end of turn.

That's right, if Titania's leaves the battlefield, this effect continues until end of turn.  One of the most bizarre facts about a card.  3 Stars.

And Legends.

2, Tap: Target permanent you control becomes the color of your choice. (This effect lasts indefinitely.)

Quick question: What happened to the counters?  1 Star.
If target creature has toughness 5 or greater, it gets +4/-4 until end of turn. Otherwise, it gets +4/-X until end of turn, where X is its toughness minus 1.

Don't like it.  Much like berserk, this should do what the card says, even though what that is has changed since it was printed.  If you cast this on a 2/2 and then your opponent hits it with -1/-1 you should end up with a 5/1, not a 5/0.  1 Star.

I didn't want to hack in the styles to put my stars next to the reviews. Next week I'm going to really go off on a couple of artifacts from Antiquities, but I think that will be all I have on that set and I'll have to go on to some of the really bizarre cards from Legends.
